Despite the fact that five queer and trans persons were slain in a terrible massacre in Colorado just a day before, Georgia Senate candidate Herschel Walker didn't halt his hate-fueled rhetoric. At an LGBTQ+ nightclub in Colorado Springs, a 22-year-old man with a history of domestic violence shot and murdered five people while injuring 22 others.

The victims of the Club Q shooting in Colorado

For the Transgender Day of Remembrance, some people were present at the venue, Club Q. This was a time to pay tribute to those who had passed away as a result of violence directed at trans persons. One of them who passed away was a bartender named Daniel Aston.

Following the 34th mass shooting in the United States this year, some pro-gun Republicans sent their customary "thoughts and prayers," while others continued to speak negatively about LGBTQIA+ people in a way that increases the likelihood of hate crimes like this. The horribly bigoted campaign speech by Herschel Walker, who will face Sen. Raphael Warnock (D) in a runoff election in Georgia on December 6, was delivered on Sunday in Carrollton. He made no reference to the shooting. Walker stated, "Do you understand what an enemy is? Your enemy is someone who dislikes you. However, they've admitted to you that they have no idea what a woman is either. Therefore, don't forget to consider that. They have no concept of what a lady is. I will nevertheless explain what it means to be a lady. Because it says so in my fantastic book. It read, "A guy and a woman."

And there are some differences between the two of them. Therefore, men shouldn't participate in women's sports. However, they're still attempting to convince you that a male may become pregnant. Don't give that any thought. He is unable, though. He is unable, though. They only intend to lie to you when they take you down in the elevator. But I'll tell you straight away that I'm not going to lie to you. I'll let you know that things are not good. We created a mess by putting incapable individuals in charge of Washington. Weak Washington officials who don't defend us." The candidate also criticized the military for upholding people's right pronouns, which was a recurring subject in his speeches, and spoke about how effective weapons were against transpeople: "Let me tell you something: we won't be strong if we don't support our troops. And I'm certain that peace won't exist. Considering that's what's happening right now. Senator Warnock has been discussed, but introducing pronouns to our military has not been. Pronouns. What exactly is a pronoun? Right now, I can tell you that grenades have no concept of what pronouns are. Your skin tone is irrelevant to a bullet. Pronouns are still brought up, though. I continue to do pushups and situps. They must do precisely that for us. Pushups and situps, not pronouns." Walker made an appearance alongside Mark Robinson, the North Carolina lieutenant governor who is a Republican. Robinson last year disparaged LGBTQ+ individuals as "filth" before declaring a few weeks later that heterosexual people were "better" than homosexuals. On Monday morning, Politico reporter Natalie Allison shared a new advertisement from Walker's campaign that featured Riley Gaines, a former University of Kentucky swimmer who competed against transgender swimmer Lia Thomas and fought against the NCAA's trans-inclusive policies. Gaines is portrayed as being supportive of Walker's position. Gaines says in the advertisement, "My senior year, I had to compete against a biological male," without mentioning Thomas by name. That's unjust and wrong, argues ex-football player Walker, who later adds, "Warnock is reluctant to stand up for female athletes." Walker has previously campaigned alongside Gaines. Walker claimed that transgender kids would not go to paradise because "Jesus might not recognize them" at a rally she attended with her in September. Walker's behavior is not shocking, especially considering that the shooting took place in Colorado and not Georgia. The day after a horrific shooting at an LGBTQ+ club, it's particularly repugnant to see Republicans who oppose all forms of gun regulation feed the flames of homophobia and transphobia Michigan GOP's chief of staff, remarked regarding the reasons why Tudor Dixon, the Republican nominee for governor, fell so far short against Gretchen Whitmer (D). "There were more advertisements promoting transgender sports than about inflation, petrol prices, and other topics that could have influenced independent voters, he noted in a memo. Voters in the center simply didn't like what Tudor was selling, therefore we didn't have an issue with turnout."
